Borders are painted. Therefore, framing is not required.
The white space was created by meticulously carving painters tape into its shape with a precision knife. After the painting was finished, the tape was then peeled to create the white silhouette.

Please note that it is extremely difficult to capture the exact colors in a photograph. I try my hardest to give an accurate representation of the original colors and textures.
